The Arizona Olympic and International style target archery tradition is a lengthy one. Top archers, coaches and events contribute to Arizona’s reputation as a premier target archery community.
Target archers apply their skills via a variety of tournament competitions. USAA-AZ conducts events as the USA Archery (USAA) designated state archery association as well as events sanctioned by the International Archery Federation (FITA).
USA Archery Arizona Clubs conduct a variety of events year around. The ASAA oversees Indoor and Outdoor State Championships, The Duel in the Desert State Team Trials, The Duel in the Desert AZ vs CA competition and specialty events including the Arizona Cup World Ranking and US Archery Team Qualifier, and specialty events for the community as a whole.
The USAA-AZ youth archery component is overseen by the Arizona Junior Olympic Archery Development (AZJOAD) Coordinator(s).
Note that youth archers and guests are welcome at most tournaments.

Other event hosts include the National Field Archery Association (NFAA) for Indoor and Field Events, locally represented by the Arizona Bowhunters and Field Archery Association (ABFAA).
