Becky Pearson Awarded The 2010 NFAA Shooter of the Year Award
9/30/2010 5:17:09 PM
September 29, 2010 - Arizona State Archery Association/Steve Yee

The Arizona State Archery Association would like to congratulate PSE Staff Shooter and Arizona resident Becky Pearson for being awarded the 2010 NFAA Amateur Female Shooter of the Year.

The NFAA Amateur Shooter of the year is an award sponsored by Mathews Archery and Easton Technical Products.

An accomplished archer since 1978, Becky has compiled an impressive bundle of wins over her 30 plus year career, and currently relies on a customized PSE Bow Madness and B-Stinger stabilizers to keep her arrows in the gold.

To qualify for this award, Becky had to shoot at the Las Vegas Open, the NFAA Indoor National, the Marked 3D shoot at Redding, the Dakota Classic, and the NFAA Outdoor Nationals. Becky had the highest combined score, which enabled her to come home with the trophy.

Congratulations to Becky for her impressive achievement!

The ASAA participates in the Phoenix Children’s Hospital Benefit Fair Day.
9/27/2010 6:38:09 AM

On September 25, The Hubbard Swim Schools and Arizona Sunrays Gymnastics hosted their annual Phoenix Children’s Hospital Benefit Fair, held in the Kino Business Complex located at 32nd Street and Thunderbird Road in Phoenix. Phoenix Children’s Hospital is the primary pediatric care and level 1 Trauma center for pediatrics in the State of Arizona, and is a non-profit organization.

Because of the need for youth activity due to childhood obesity, some of the local Olympic sports organizations were asked to participate. There were five Olympic sports represented at the fair – USA Archery (via the Arizona State Archery Association), USA Gymnastics (via the Arizona Sunrays), USA Swimming (via the Hubbard Swim Schools), USA Cycling and USA Triathlon (via RaceLab).

In attendance – Steve Yee (ASAA), Susan Yee (upcoming Intermediate Instructor/booth support), Brad Kathrins (upcoming Intermediate Instructor), Steve Stringham (photographer/booth support), Adam Stringham (JOAD Shooter), Spencer Yee (JOAD Shooter), and Alex Kathrins (JOAD Shooter).

The ASAA wish to thanks JOAD State Coordinator Steve Yee for organizing the demonstration and to the members of the Corner Archery JOAD Club for their help.

Thank you Sean Stephens and Ted Harden
9/15/2010 6:41:10 AM
Sean Stephen organized and managed the ASAA website since 2004 and provided the key to ASAA information and communications.  Sean moved out of state and continued to act as webmaster until the recent website change over.  Thank you Sean for your dedicated volutneer service!  We hope to see you on the line at the AZ Cup again soon.

In the early 2000’s Ted Harden had the foresight to secure the three primary ASAA website addresses,
www.azarchery.com, www.azjoad.com and www.arizonacup.com.   Knowing the importance of the web addresses, Ted insured that the web addresses subscriptions were paid for and up to date for a decade.  Ted Harden is the father of JOAD National Champion, Jr USAT, and Collegiate Archery All American, Ted Harden II.

The ASAA and the Arizona target archery community thanks Ted and Sean for the long volunteer service above and beyond the call of duty.  Mike Cullumber mcullumber@cox.net is the current ASAA webmaster.  Janice Price info@arizonacup.com is now the web address administrator and continues to manage the AZJOAD and Arizona Cup websites.  The Arizona State Archery Assocation welcomes website posting submissions.
