MEL NICHOLS - USAA COACH OF THE YEAR

TOURNAMENT HOSTS NEEDED

Seasons greeting, it’s about that time!

Reminder:  The 2011 ASAA/AZJOAD indoor championship bids are due soon.  Information can be found here; http://www.azarchery.com/page13.php?post=24 

Note that Embry Riddle Golden Eagles Archery has communicated that they are in the process of preparing a proposal to host the 2011 ASAA indoors at BASF.

The 2010 season was a success with more and more youths in club programs and more and more youths taking part in events.  Masters has become a major category.  Tournament hosts are needed to be able to provide the archers with opportunities.

FITA COUNCIL ANNOUNCES CHANGES

Following the recent meeting of the International Archery Federation (FITA) Council in Istanbul, the FITA Council evaluated the competition formats utilized during the past year, and announced some modifications. They also announced that the 2012 World Indoor Championships will be held in Las Vegas.

*    New judges with the information needed to officiate tournaments.

USA Archery is hosting a judges seminar in January 2011 at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs.

This is a rare opportunity to be able to learn the international standard of officiating and well as the “intent” of the rules.  Space is limited.  Arizona judges are encouraged to sign up soon. See also attached forms in pdf or docx format.

ASAA State Indoor Championships Tournament Bids

The 2011 ASAA and AZJOAD State Championship Tournament bids are due soon.  All, including clubs, members, communities and businesses are invited to consider hosting a tourney and submit a proposal.  

The bid deadline for the ASAA Indoor Championship is November 22.  (The Ben Avery Shooting Facility Indoor range has been reserved should a bidder choose to use the facility)

The bid deadline for the Arizona JOAD Indoor Championship is December 6th.
